Avigilon Alta / Aperio / Commercial access control

Avigilon Alta and Aperio.
More doors. More possibilities.

Extend cloud-managed access to more doors across offices, education, hospitality, retail and leisure—with new possibilities for coworking integrations too.

Cloud access control, extended further into your building.

Avigilon Alta Access now supports ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless locking. For businesses, building managers and coworking operators, this creates another way to bring suitable doors into a cloud-managed access control system.

Your main entrance may already be controlled through Alta, while private offices, meeting rooms or staff areas still rely on mechanical keys. Adding compatible wireless locks can extend managed access to those spaces, with less door cabling than a conventional wired installation.

At Digilec, we design, install and maintain access control systems around how a building is used. We can assess the opportunities this integration creates for an existing Alta installation or a new commercial project.

Booking software connects to Alta Access through the cloud. On site, the Alta controller and Aperio IP hub share the local network, and the H100 handle communicates wirelessly with the hub.

Already using Alta Access? Bring more doors into the picture.

An access system often grows with the business. A new tenant takes another office, a shared floor is divided into suites, or a previously open area needs restricted access. Wireless locking gives us another option when planning those changes.

  • Private offices: consider controlled access for individual teams or occupiers.
  • Meeting rooms: connect suitable doors to the access rules for bookable spaces.
  • Staff and support areas: manage who can enter internal rooms without distributing more mechanical keys.
  • Phased upgrades: review suitable doors in stages as your needs develop.

We start with your existing Alta organisation, the installed equipment and the doors you want to add. That establishes what can be retained and which locks, communication equipment, credentials or licences the extension needs.

A wireless lock still forms part of a physical door. The door condition, closing action and required escape arrangement are as important as the connection to the access platform.

More flexibility across commercial buildings.

The opportunity is not limited to coworking. Wherever Alta Access is used to manage a building, supported wireless locking gives us another option for suitable internal doors.

  • Business offices: private offices, meeting rooms and areas reserved for particular teams.
  • Schools, colleges and universities: staff rooms, administration areas and suitable teaching or support spaces.
  • Hotels and hospitality: management offices and back-of-house areas, coordinated with the wider access system.
  • Retail: staff areas and appropriate stock or management rooms.
  • Gyms and leisure venues: offices, staff facilities and suitable rooms requiring controlled access.

These are applications we can assess, rather than a single lock specification for every door. We select the hardware around the level of security, frequency of use and agreed fire and escape requirements.

New possibilities for OfficeRnD and Nexudus users.

For a coworking operator, the opportunity goes beyond adding a lock. It is about connecting the spaces you sell and manage with the doors members need to use.

OfficeRnD Flex and Avigilon Alta

OfficeRnD Flex integrates with Alta Access through mapped security groups. Membership plans, locations, assigned resources and meeting-room bookings can be used to determine access. With an appropriately supported Aperio installation, that creates an opportunity to include more internal doors in the access model.

OfficeRnD’s current published guidance specifies the US Alta instance and does not yet list support for the EU instance. We check the account setup and integration requirements before recommending a solution. This is a platform configuration consideration, rather than the physical location of the building.

Nexudus and Avigilon Alta

Nexudus also integrates with Alta Access, previously known as Openpath. Access groups can be connected to resources, passes, desks and offices, allowing access to follow the relevant bookings or contracts.

Adding supported wireless doors gives operators more flexibility when planning which rooms belong in those groups. We coordinate the door hardware and the access settings with the way the workspace is managed.

From the front door to the office they have booked.

A team takes a private office in a coworking building. Their access needs to cover the entrance, the route through shared areas and their own office door. Where the integration and selected hardware support the arrangement, a wireless office lock can become part of that same access plan. We configure and test the permissions, credential use and membership or booking changes as a complete journey.

The software integration manages access permissions through Alta; it does not mean every Aperio product or credential automatically supports every workflow. We confirm the proposed combination, including synchronisation behaviour and access expiry, before handover.

The right locks, connections and credentials.

Aperio is a family of wireless access products, so selecting the right arrangement starts with the individual door. Digilec selects the appropriate locks, hubs and credentials to suit your doors and Alta Access installation.

We confirm the supported combination for Alta Access, then assess the required functions, wireless coverage and connection requirements. Battery-powered door devices can reduce wiring at the door, while the associated communication equipment still needs the appropriate power and network connections.

We also check how people will unlock the doors. Existing cards, fobs, mobile credentials and Apple Wallet credentials each need to be assessed against the proposed hardware and integration. A credential working at an Alta reader does not automatically establish that it will work at a selected wireless lock.

Aperio options include H100 wireless handles, E100 electronic escutcheons and L100 wireless locks. We select the appropriate hardware for each door and confirm the supported Alta integration as part of the project design. For more about the range, see our Aperio wireless locking insight.

Designed, installed and supported by Digilec.

We can help businesses already using Alta Access, coworking operators planning an extension and project teams choosing a system for a new building or fit-out.

  • Survey and design: assess the doors, existing access system and operating requirements.
  • Equipment selection: confirm compatible locks, communication equipment, credentials and licensing.
  • Installation and commissioning: fit the hardware and test door operation, access permissions and wireless communication.
  • Integration support: coordinate and test the agreed OfficeRnD Flex or Nexudus access workflow with your team.
  • Handover and maintenance: explain everyday operation and agree ongoing checks and support.

Digilec has operated since 2011 and installed well over 1,000 access-controlled doors. Our experience covers the access platform, locking equipment and the practical operation of the door.

Our installation team includes Aperio-trained and certificated installers who have completed ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio Installer training.

We provide access control maintenance and fault investigation, including battery checks, door operation and communication checks appropriate to the installed system. Remote assistance is available where the equipment and authorised access support it, alongside site visits when needed.

Questions about Alta and Aperio.

Can we add Aperio locks to an existing Alta Access system?

Potentially, yes. We assess the existing installation and confirm the supported hardware, firmware, credentials and licensing before recommending the extension.

Can wireless doors work with OfficeRnD or Nexudus?

These platforms integrate with Alta Access. Supported wireless doors can be considered within the associated access groups, subject to the exact hardware and software configuration. We test the required membership or booking workflow as part of commissioning.

Will our current cards or mobile credentials work?

We check that before specifying the locks. Credential support depends on the selected lock, reader technology and integration; existing Alta mobile or Apple Wallet access should not be assumed to transfer automatically.

Can Digilec help if another company installed our Alta system?

Yes. We can assess an existing installation for extensions, maintenance or fault investigation, subject to the system permissions and information available.
