Fire alarm repairs & takeovers

A clear way forward
when something isn’t right.

Fault investigation, considered repairs and support for inherited fire alarm systems. Get an experienced team involved, even if we did not install it.

Find the cause. Agree the next step.

A fault message, a recurring unwanted alarm or incomplete service history can leave you unsure what to do next. Digilec can investigate existing fire alarm installations and explain the practical options for repair, remedial work or a planned upgrade.

You can ask for a call-out without already having a maintenance agreement with us. We confirm availability and the attendance arrangements when you contact us. If there is an active fire alarm or any sign of fire, follow your premises’ emergency procedures rather than waiting for an engineering visit.

A considered investigation

Look beyond the symptom.

01

Panel & power faults

Review the displayed fault, event history, power supplies, standby batteries and relevant circuits or devices to establish what needs attention.

02

Repeated unwanted alarms

Consider detector condition and suitability, contamination, environmental changes and site activities that could be contributing to activations.

03

Wireless communication

For Ajax EN54 and supported wireless systems, investigate device status, battery condition and radio coverage alongside any changes to the building.

Fire alarm takeovers

Inherited a system?
Start with an informed review.

If you have taken over a property or want to change service company, we review the installation before agreeing responsibility for its ongoing support. The panel make, device types, design information, service records and authorised access help establish a workable starting point.

We support systems using Ajax EN54, Advanced, Kentec, Apollo and C-TEC equipment. Exact model support and availability of parts or configuration tools are checked as part of the review.

Where monitoring is in place, a changeover must be coordinated with the existing provider and the site’s responsible person. We help plan the work around continued protection rather than assuming every arrangement transfers automatically.

Repair or upgrade

Retain what is suitable.
Improve what needs attention.

The right answer may be a targeted repair, replacement of a deteriorated component or a wider improvement to an ageing installation. We explain the findings and proposed work so you can understand the decision.

Where a new system is appropriate, Ajax EN54 wireless equipment can provide an attractive route for occupied buildings or difficult cable routes. Suitability still depends on the required design, a site assessment and radio performance.

Help us prepare

What to send with your enquiry.

The building and the issue. Tell us the site location, how the property is used, the panel make and the exact fault message. A clear photograph of the display or equipment label is helpful.

What you already know. Include any recent service report, when the problem started and whether the system has remote monitoring. Please do not send passwords or access codes in an enquiry email.

We will discuss the next step and any information needed before attendance. Where a fault affects protection, the responsible person should arrange appropriate interim measures with their fire-safety adviser.

Let’s talk about your building

Ask about a fire alarm fault.

Send us your site location, the type of building and what you need help with. If you have a fire alarm specification, floor plans or an existing service report, those are a useful starting point.
