Bring ABLOY ePED expertise into your team. We supply, install, integrate and commission the escape-door system alongside your access control installation, with you leading the client relationship.
ABLOY trained & authorisedSupply, installation and commissioning of ePED systems
Security expertise since 2011Practical experience of access control and door hardware

Specialist support, on your side
An extension of your installation team.
You do not need to build your own specialist ePED service to take on a project that includes it. Bring in our trained team and keep delivering the access control work you know.
If EN 13637 or the ABLOY ePED hardware is unfamiliar territory, we can help you work through the project requirements and take care of the specialist package. You can draw on our training, product knowledge and commissioning experience without first developing that capability within your own team.
Whether this is your first ePED project or occasional specialist support, we explain the interfaces, agree each team’s responsibilities and work alongside your engineers from planning to handover.
Your client relationship stays yours.
We work to your agreed brief, coordinate customer contact through your team and keep our involvement within the agreed scope. From the first conversation, we establish how you want us represented on site, who communicates with the client and how handover and future support will work.

Digilec, working alongside you
Deliver the ePED escape-door system.
Bring us in for the specialist equipment, installation and commissioning scope you need.
Approved terminal, interfaces and locking package
Door hardware and installation coordination
Access release and required fire interface coordination
Functional testing, commissioning and handover
The connection between your system and ours.Your access controller provides the agreed release signal. The ePED system manages the escape-door functions through its approved control and locking arrangement. We agree the interface and test how the complete installation operates together.
We can coordinate with Paxton, CEM Systems, DoorFlow, Avigilon Alta and other access control platforms where suitable release interfaces are available. Compatibility and door operation are confirmed during design.
From the specification to the handover
Support where your project needs it.
01
Early technical coordination
Send us the door schedule, specification or questions from your consultant. We help turn the agreed escape requirements into a practical equipment and interface proposal.
02
Supply and installation
We select the appropriate ABLOY ePED package and coordinate its installation with your engineers, the doorset and the project programme.
03
Integration and commissioning
We coordinate normal access release, emergency operation and required fire alarm interfaces, then test the agreed functions with the relevant project teams.
04
Handover and continued support
We provide the agreed commissioning records and explain system operation. Maintenance and fault support can be arranged through your team for the installed package.
Understanding the complete system
Clarity around the escape-door specification.
EN 13637
The performance standard for electrically controlled exit systems for use on escape routes.
EN 13637 concerns the escape-door system as a whole: its emergency actuation, control and electrical locking elements. Selecting a terminal alone, or combining it with an arbitrary maglock, does not establish conformity of the complete arrangement.
We review the relevant manufacturer certification and approved component combinations, together with door hardware, fire-door suitability, power arrangements and the required interfaces.
Immediate emergency release or an approved delayed-release arrangement can be considered to suit the project. We coordinate with EN 179 or EN 1125 mechanical escape hardware where it forms part of the specified door arrangement.
The project’s responsible fire-safety team determines the escape strategy and whether delayed egress is permissible. Digilec supports equipment selection and delivers the agreed installation; we do not undertake the building’s fire risk assessment.
Working together
Easy to bring in. Clear from the outset.
You do not need to have every technical detail resolved before contacting us. A door schedule, a specification clause or a conversation about the project is a useful starting point.
We are not trained on ePED. Can you take care of that part?
Yes. You can appoint Digilec to supply, install and commission the specialist ePED package, drawing on our ABLOY training and authorisation. Your team continues with its agreed access control scope. We explain the required interfaces and coordinate the work, so you have experienced support from the outset.
Can we keep our access control platform?
In many projects, yes. Your readers, credentials and software can continue to manage access. We check the available release output and coordinate the ePED interface with your controller and the required door behaviour.
Will Digilec deal directly with our customer?
You remain the lead contractor for your client relationship. We agree communication arrangements with you before becoming involved. Where a joint meeting or direct technical discussion is useful, it is coordinated with your team.
Can you support an existing installation?
Yes. We can assess the existing equipment and agreed escape requirements, identify the appropriate ePED package and plan the integration. Existing locks can only be retained where they are suitable and permitted within the selected system combination.
Do we need ePED on every maglock door?
A maglock on its own does not tell you which complete escape-door arrangement the project requires. The door’s use, the agreed escape strategy and the specification need to be considered. Where an EN 13637 system is specified, we help select and install an appropriate tested combination.
Can you help with just the specialist part of a larger project?
Yes. Our involvement can be scoped around the escape-door package while your team delivers the wider access control installation. Installation responsibilities, interfaces, testing, documentation and aftercare are agreed together.
