Ajax Grade 3 wireless: a new option for higher-risk properties.
Wireless intruder alarms are attractive when you want a clean installation with less disruption. Higher-risk premises also need the right level of detection, supervision and resistance to interference. Ajax Superior G3 Jeweller brings these priorities together in a professional wireless range designed for EN 50131 Grade 3 applications.
For shops, commercial buildings and higher-risk homes, that creates an option worth considering alongside a wired or hybrid alarm. Digilec supplies, installs and maintains Ajax systems, with the equipment and configuration selected around your property and its insurance requirements.
What does Grade 3 mean for your alarm?
The alarm’s grade reflects the risk and the level of protection required. Grade 3 is intended for medium-to-high-risk situations, with more demanding requirements than Grade 2. It is a system-design requirement, not simply a label on the hub.
An Ajax Grade 3 wireless installation needs the appropriate devices, configuration, standby power and signalling arrangement. Adding a Grade 3 hub to an existing system does not automatically make every connected device or the complete installation Grade 3.
For residential properties: Grade 3 can be appropriate where the assessed risk or insurer requires stronger protection. We confirm the required grade rather than assume every home needs it.
Where Grade 3 wireless alarms can make sense.
Retail & valuable stock
Protecting merchandise, stockrooms and vulnerable entrances where the risk assessment calls for higher-security detection.
Commercial premises
Offices, workshops and business properties with valuable equipment, sensitive areas or specific insurance conditions.
Higher-risk homes
Residential security where valuable contents, personal circumstances or insurer requirements justify Grade 3 protection.
Existing & finished buildings
Sites where reducing detector cabling can preserve finishes and help limit disruption during an upgrade.
Wireless detectors reduce the need for cables to each detection point. The hub, communications and power arrangements still need proper planning. We survey the building and radio environment before deciding whether wireless, Fibra wired or a hybrid approach offers the best fit.
Professional protection, with familiar Ajax simplicity.
The Superior G3 range includes the Superior Hub G3 Jeweller, compatible motion and opening detectors, keypads, sirens and hold-up devices. Suitable range extenders can support coverage where the design requires them.
Superior Jeweller introduces advanced encryption and enhanced frequency hopping. Selected detectors add anti-masking protection to identify attempts to obstruct detection. The supported radio protections depend on the devices and system configuration, which we check during design.
See more than an alarm notification
Superior MotionCam G3 (PhOD) Jeweller adds photo verification and photo-on-demand options. Authorised users can assess an activation through the Ajax app, with permissions controlling who can request and view photos.
Everyday operation remains approachable: arm and disarm the system, check its state and receive event notifications through the app. With compatible Ajax video equipment, cameras can sit alongside alarm control in the same user experience.
Monitored Ajax alarms and police-response arrangements.
Digilec is an SSAIB-certificated company. We can provide monitored intruder and hold-up alarm systems for commercial and residential properties, including police-response arrangements where the installation meets the applicable requirements.
Monitoring connects the alarm to an alarm receiving centre with an agreed response process. We coordinate the appropriate signalling, confirmation arrangements, registration and maintenance. App notifications alone do not establish police response, and Grade 3 equipment by itself does not guarantee it.
We explain the available arrangements clearly, so you can choose protection around the property and the support you need.
Accredited Ajax installation. Experience beyond the product.
Digilec is an accredited Ajax installer, trained to supply and install the professional Superior range, including Fibra products. Ajax reserves these professional products for accredited partners who have completed its required training.
Our technical product knowledge sits alongside experience of intruder alarm installations since 2011. We look at the building, the detection coverage, the communications and the way people will use the system—not just the equipment list.
- Design and installation: select the grade, detection, devices and monitoring around the agreed requirements.
- Commissioning and handover: test the installation and help users feel confident with the app, keypads and response process.
- Maintenance and support: planned servicing, fault investigation and remote support on compatible systems.
- Existing systems: review suitable upgrades and extensions, including wired or hybrid alternatives.

Planning an Ajax Grade 3 alarm?
Can a wireless intruder alarm meet Grade 3?
Yes. Ajax’s Superior G3 wireless range provides equipment for Grade 3 installations. The complete system must use suitable devices and meet the required configuration, power, signalling and installation requirements.
Can we reuse our existing Ajax devices?
We check the exact models and the intended grade. Compatibility with a hub does not necessarily mean a device meets Grade 3 requirements or supports every enhanced radio feature.
Is Grade 3 wireless suitable for a home?
It can be, where the assessed risk or insurer requirements call for that level of protection. Digilec will assess whether Grade 3 wireless, wired or hybrid equipment is appropriate.
Can Digilec arrange monitoring and maintain it?
Yes. We can agree monitoring, eligible police-response arrangements and ongoing maintenance as part of the project.
